I work with physical ordeal in my dances in order to foreground the exertion, exhaustion, and effort of the performers in my work. At the same time, I use delineated patterns to bring an imaginary architecture to life in space. I invite viewers into a continual shifting of perception between that imaginary architecture and the human beings who strive to articulate it
